Toilet Backup in Serra Mesa, CA
Commercial customer called us out to help clear a bathroom that was not draining properly. Upon arrival, the technician had to remove a toilet in order to access the section of sewer that was causing the back up. Utilizing a cable snake, the technician was able to clear a soft stoppage that was holding in the pipe. Once the pipe was cleared and viewable a sewer camera was used in order to determine the integrity of the cast iron sewer. Due to some scale build up (jagged, sharp calcified material) within the cast iron pipe, the paper was getting caught on this and creating a dam like situation until it finally would not drain anymore. Once the toilet was put back on, the technician was able to flush and run water to ensure good flow was restored.
